OUR APPROACH & DELIVERABLES
LEL was considering proposals to introduce an incinerator bottom ash (IBA) screening process to separate oversized and unburnt fractions in IBA produced from the incineration of waste at Edmonton EcoPark prior to the screened IBA being transferred off-site to a suitably licenced waste management company. As this represented a change in operating technique, LEL was required to apply for a variation to its existing environmental permit.
Logika supported LEL with the permit variation for the proposed changes in operations, including liaison with the Environment Agency during pre-application, completing the relevant permit variation forms, and developing the supplementary technical information report (STIR) which included an assessment of the design and operation of the proposed changes against the sectoral BAT Conclusions for Waste Incineration.
